Well it looks like we are taking Old Blue Eyes -the Pioneer Avic Radio/ Navigation system for those who don’t know her-( www.pioneerelectronics.com ) to the experts at Mobile Electronics ( www.getmect.com) for recalibration again. She seems to recognize east and west, but has some “issues” with North and South. That’s not a good thing. Not that its relevant to her "issues," but what we discover is when Alan removed the Moto Sat satellite system (that’s another story) he also broke the XM antenna wire to the radio. So given the newer technology (Ipod attachments and Pandora) which are already operational with the Pioneer, and the fact that the XM subscription hadn’t been renewed for economy reasons (too much $ for too little use) he decides to scrap the XM box altogether. I can remember when we thought XM was the best thing since sliced bread- now its history… I Better keep Alan away from the RV shows and dealers- given his historical proclivity to change cars for the slightest excuse..ah.. reason. I don’t want him to test drive some new high tech RV and before you know it, I will be history too. Anyway, back to the point of this post. Some trial and error with Blue eyes brain placement and it looks she is back to being coherent again. We will test her out on the way home. Sure hope she works ok for her sake….
