2011 - A False Start.

It was a long winter with TONS of snow. Sure am glad my Jeep buddy and I have nice inside parking! Unfortunately because of all the snow I didn't get all my usual monthly exercises. Alan finally came to take me for a spin after April 15th and it turns out my starting batteries had given up the ghost. Hey were the original equipment, so no complaints. I got some new improved and even more powerful ones- so we are good to go. Alan then took me for my annual checkup and service at the beginning of May. As usual all systems are sound and refreshed.

I am looking forward to hitting the road as Alan & Bev have some great plans for me in the early part of summer. We will also have a new passenger- Major- a 5 yr old Golden Retriever rescue from our friends at Memphis Area Golden Retriever Rescue. http://www.magrr.org. I can't wait to met him. We all hope he will enjoy coming along for the ride as much as Mcgee and Lucky did.

Anyway, first on the schedule is a short shakedown cruise to the dirt races at Lebanon Valley over Memorial day. Then a real road trip for the whole month of June! A little leg stretching jaunt to Tennessee for the Bonnaro Music Festival, some adlib side trips on the way back up the coast to the Beaches of Rhode island- where my jeep buddy hopes to get some off roading. then a short move to see the Blue Angels air show in Narraganset with the FMCA. I Will get to visit some of my fellow motor coaches I met a few years ago at the same event. Sounds like a good start to the season, and I can't wait to see whats next.

Well what came next was Alan having a medical breakdown (I think he neglected his own maintenance!) and thus cancellation of all the above plans. I guess I will be waiting for Alan to be repaired before we regroup and make some new plans. It sure looks like its going to be a slow start to this travel season.
