Until now Alan never really wanted to hook up direct to the campground water and bypass my holding tank. We always filled (and refilled) the tanks and ran off the internal pump etc. He was worried about the constant "on" of the campground water supply, and what the water pressure might be and thus what might happen if a leak occurred while they were out for the day or at night. That was ok for short trips and such, but now that we have been in one place for three weeks, Bev was getting annoyed with the loud water pump- especially when using the new dishwasher and when using the Bathroom at night or when the ice maker was feeding....So Alan went to the local West Marine store (for some reason there doesn't seem to be any RV store like a Camping World here in the Keys) and purchased a Water filter and separate pressure regulator. Then a trip to the hardware store (a real old fashioned one- that has EVERYTHING...) for some nuts, bolts, spacers and hose quick connects. Carefully drilling into the utility bay wall (and not drilling too deep and putting a hole in the water tank hidden behind!) the bracket was mounted and everything assembled. A few tweeks and everything works perfectly (ie. quietly...)
Now they have a choice to run direct or internally from my holding tank. Cool. Why we never did this before, or for that matter, why it wasn't standard equipment from the factory is beyond me. Probably some bean counter (oops, did I say that??) eliminated it from the factory OEM plans.....
