Its been comfy parked inside the Nomad workshop the last few months, but I am getting anxious to hit the road. The techs at Nomad are working to get my makeover completed in time for Alan to come get me on Nov 1. I know he is just as anxious, as we have an almost 3 week (working) layover in CT, then a peaceful easy, semi direct ride home to FL. Right after turkey day we head out on a three month trip to the warmer latitudes of the Fl Keys with the whole crew aboard. More on that later.
Like most other home improvement projects, things evolved....Turned out the dishwasher drawer required a few more inches of depth, so the cabinet had to be moved, necessitating new counter tops, so we might as well ditch the dated mirrored back splash etc. More $ than Alan wanted to spend on cosmetics, but in the end we think the new "Airstream" themed kitchen will not only be more functional with the SS dishwasher drawer, new bigger SS RV fridge, new SS sink, but will be very cool looking with the black and silver counter tops complemented by the polished aluminum back splash, complete with Airstream style rivets and logo, all lit up with hidden LED lighting. I will definitely be even more beautiful and unique!
My Skydeck is also getting some attention with a slick design table and a new center cushion (that's another story) They never did get the decking issue resolved, so that will have to wait. I suspect I will be visiting a marine dealer at some point to get the decking spruced up with some kind of marine application suitable to my exposed skydeck.
