We break camp in the am and head back to Nomad for our appointment. I pull inside the shop
and Alan goes over the "Wish List" with Justin. The list is long, but Alan tells them I only need some "improvements", not a complete makeover like the last Skydeck they completely rebuilt! Seeing that one on the news is what brought us here- we only want experienced and skilled artisans operating on me! We patiently await Justin's estimate of the cost. We all know that the entire list wont happen- but are hopeful the most important things can get done within budget (now there's a concept that usually doesn't get applied to Alan's toys...) The other issue is the timetable- do we all head back home to Fl as planned and then I have to come back later to get the work done, or do I get left behind now so the work is done sooner-like before winter sets in...Hey the trees are already turning color up here! Staying is better for me, but everyone else will have to drive back to Fl in the Jeep...I don't think Bev is looking forward to that...
While we wait, Alan took a few pics of the place. One current project is a 20 year old Airstream is getting a complete makeover...
I just hope some of my original parts don't end up in this pile!
Then again I don't need this much work!

Alan and Bev also tour a wide selection of new Airstream trailers looking for design and material ideas. There were a few with great layouts and a very open feeling with lots of windows and light materials. Very cool and WAY nicer than other trailers we have seen at RV shows. One good thing, after looking at the Airstream Interstate van and its hefty price, I look like a veritable bargain! And I am a rare item as well, so should always be in demand! That's good for all of us.
The day winds down and its clear that the final estimate won't get done today. So Alan and Bev take a leap of faith and decide to leave me here and hope the budget and wish list can be reconciled....
They take off in the Jeep and head back to CT so Alan can work a few more days and start saving towards the ultimate bill for Nomad's Services.... To be continued.....
