Shakedown 2010

Finally out of winter hibernation! Received my annual checkup and maintenance service and have been pronounced healthy and good to go. Unfortunatly, I will be one passenger short, as Sweet "Lucky" (Alan's golden retriever shadow) has moved on to the big dog park in the sky. We will miss her making friends with everyone we meet on the road- but it will sure be easier to keep me clean! First trip of the year is out to Provincetown on the Cape to obtain an Off Road permit for my Jeep buddy. Al and Bev are also giving me some TLC and upgrades. Most importantly my navigation system "Blue eyes" is getting some much needed attention so she will be fully operational again. Problem has been diagnosed, now to the tech for repair on friday. Be glad to have blue eyes back in charge, as the missed turns, backtracking, long way around routes are getting old. To say nothing of the Uturns, including the latest one on a narrow country road with the Jeep tagging along. The necessary backing up was sure an adventure! This was a first and hopefully the last time we try that.
Arrived at the Cape KOA for a few days of fresh air and piece and quiet. NO ONE is here. Kind of nice actually. Al and Bev are off to the dunes for some offroading and sun worship. Then its back home to finish getting ready for my first international trip-Heading up to Montreal for the the F1 Races in a few weeks. See you then.
